Technique Club Cards for February

I taught my technique club class this last week. With it being before Valentine's Day, I happily made Valentine cards. :) I taught color resist techniques this month - wax paper resist, crayon resist, and heat embossing color resist. I think there are tutorials for each technique on Splitcoaststampers.

It's hard to see the light pink background in the photo, but we did the wax paper resist technique.

Crayon resist technique on the hearts. No matter how many times I do this technique, it still amazes me that I can start with white cardstock, but you'd never guess that by looking at the finished project.

Heat embossing color resist - same as above....hard to believe I started out with white cardstock. I just love the embossed white swirls. :)

Valentine's for my youngest daughter...

What a bittersweet Valentine's Day this year. My youngest daughter is turning 12 this year and is in the 6th grade. So this is her last year of exchanging Valentine's at school. I needed to keep these simple due to time constraints (meaning I waited till the last minute!). LOL I'm not sure when it became popular to bring treats or candy instead of just a valentine, but I finally gave in a did treats. Inside each little package is a package of fruit snacks, held in place with a glue dot. And actually while I threw the design of these together (kept incredibly simple because I'm sure the kids will eat the fruit snack and throw the valentine away), my 16 year old daughter gets full credit for making all 25 of them!

Then for my daughter's teachers, I threw together these candy bars. I kept them simple as well....but she said her teachers loved them. :) The stamps I used for these projects are from Studio G. They are wood mounted and I found them in the dollar bin at Porter's.

Famous Last Words...

You know the expression "never say never"? Well I put that one to the test this last week. In my recent post of junior legal pads I said I was sick of making them and needed a new project to work on...well I ended up eating my words! I took a bit of a hiatus from papercrafting for a couple of weeks (or so it felt...I've really lost track). I made these notebooks for my neighbor's mom. I'm not sure if it was the new papers and stamps I had to play with or what, but it was fun to make them. Then when the ladies at the dentist's office saw them, I got an order for five more of them. I really do think I will move on to a different project now...just not sure what. LOL Enjoy!

I have no clue where the papers on the first one are from...other than my stash! LOL The patterned papers on the 2nd & 3rd are from Bo Bunny I think. Well I know the 3rd one is for sure. On the 2nd one I used my new stamp set from SU called From the Heart. It is from their mini catalog and I just love it. It's also cling mounted and comes in a dvd case that is great for saving room storage wise. I'm so glad they are now offering cling mounted stamps. Yay!!! No more wood blocks!!!
