Hearts Composition Book

I suppose the stickers I used on this composition book aren't what you typically think of when you think of hearts. I love the watch gear type aspect of them. They were in a sticker pack a friend gave me with some other scrappin' stuff for my birthday and I finally found a good use for them. :)  The paper is from an SU paper pad they had out a couple of years ago as part of a promotion/special buy. It seems like it's the paper pack that keeps on going and going and going....

Vintage Hotel Composition Book

Here's the other secret sister composition book I made this week. One of the girls we needed to do a secret sister gift for isn't into "girly girl" kind of stuff. I found this paper in my stash and thought a teenager might find it kinda fun and funky and went from there. I really like how it turned out.

Supplies Used:
Papers: Tim Holtz paper pad
Inks: SU Early Expresso, CTMH Desert Sand
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co.
Misc: Stickles, Crackle Accents

Smile Composition Book

My girls needed a couple of composition books as secret sister gifts this week. I had a lot of fun making this one. I love how bright and cheerful it is. Of course I love making these notebooks in general. I've made so many altered composition books that it feels like I'm making the same old stuff but I absolutely LOVE making them.

I didn't do anything particularly special with this one. I love the background paper so much that I wanted it to shine.

Supplies Used:
Paper: CTMH Dotty For You Cardstock: CTMH Sunset, Colonial White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, CTMH Sunset, CTMH Lagoon
Stamps: Don't remember the name of it or the company. It's a single stamp I bought at Archiver's.
Misc: Ribbon from The Ribbon Retreat, Prima & Recollections flowers, SU Everyday Enchantment brad

Newest 4 legged family member

I just couldn't resist sharing this pic from our road trip. Besides visiting family and friends one of the main reasons we took our trip to Texas was to bring home our newest family member, Maggie. She's a pit bull mix that my mom rescued when she was about 12 weeks old. Someone dumped her out in the country. Totally despicable, but I'm glad that we have her!  She can be very energetic at times but is usually pretty laid back and puts up with whatever anyone dishes out. Use her as a problem. Play with her problem. Dress her problem. LOL  She rode in the far backseat of the van with Emily for the 1,700 mile trip home. I didn't find this pic until I dumped the pics from my camera to the computer. Silly girls!

Punch Challenge

I've been feeling like my mojo in non-existent and that all I've been making is the same old stuff. When I commiserated with friends about it on Facebook, my friend (and Stampin' Up enabler) Meranda suggested a challenge to make a card front using our punches.

I love the first card but can't take any credit whatsoever for the creation. I cased a card off of Pinterest that had inspired me a while back. I'm kinda so-so about the second card. I had a completely different look going on for it only to scrap it and start over. You know how sometimes you think a project needs just a little something more but then when you add it you realize "oops, that was too much"?  Well that's what happened with the second card. It was way cooler before I messed it up and had to start over. I also should've learned my lesson from the first card and whole "it's too much" thing. I'm not loving the prisma glitter on the ice cream cone. Oh well. C'est la vie.

The third card I just threw together so I could use up the cute ribbon. A friend gave me some chocolates for my birthday and that ribbon was tied around them. I saved it thinking it would be perfect for a project of some sort and the card just kinda went together from there. I realized after I had it done though that the ribbon was crooked. Yep, one of those kind of crafting days. Perhaps I should consider being less of a perfectionist. LOL  Speaking of perfectionism, please forgive the spot on the 1st card...apparently I had something on my camera lens. Sigh.
