Fun animal pics

I probably have way too much fun taking pictures of our furry companions. I took these last month. I had started to take a picture of Izzy while she was curled up asleep and looked so cute and innocent. She promptly sat up and proceeded to fall asleep sitting up!  What a goof!





I also took a couple of pictures of our supremely lazy poochies.





I thought Rosie was going to slide right off the couch and onto her head. She seemed to be rather comfy but I thought surely all the blood must have rushed to her head. If I slept like that I'd have a serious crick in my neck! LOL

Fingerless Mittens for Mom

My mom requested a pair of fingerless mittens quite a while ago and I finally sat down and made them after all of my Christmas knitting was over and done with. I used a Knitpicks pattern called Semplice Fingerless Mitts. I used Red Heart Soft Yarn in the Waterscape colorway.  The pattern was super easy and I'm quite pleased with how they turned out. Most importantly though, Mom loved how they turned out. I also made her a headband to help keep her ears warm in turquoise blue but I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of it!

Belated Valentine's Post

I got so busy trying to get caught up on sharing pics from the craft shows in Nov & Dec that I completely neglected to post these cute Valentine projects I worked on.

This first one is a card I made for DH. Blue is his favorite color so I decided to skip the traditional pink/red color scheme for his card.I used some dsp from one of last year's packs. I can't remember the name of it. I think it might be called blueberry crisp. The stamp set is also from Stampin' Up. It's called You're My Type.



The next project I worked on was 24, yes I said 24 nugget boxes. I know, I know. I'm a total glutton for punishment. In my defense I did decorate them simply. I made them for my girls to hand out to their friends at school. They are both well beyond elementary school and the handing out of Valentine's to an entire class, but they do still enjoy giving things out to their friends.





This is my favorite nugget box. I decorated it using an owl sticker from a set I purchased on clearance at Michael's. This cute little box went to my oldest daughter and is filled with dark chocolate nuggets.





The next projects I made were for a Valentine's themed swap I participated in on Ravelry in the Trash to Treasures group. We had to make something for our swap partner to wear, something hand knit/crocheted, and something that was recycled/upcycled.

For the something to wear category I made this bracelet.

 

I packaged it in this cute recycled Kay's Jewelers box that I decorated.





For the something hand knit, I made this Hearts Dishcloth.



Well I think that about sums up the Valentine's projects I worked on. Stay tuned for some cute Easter projects that WILL be posted BEFORE Easter. ;)

Newborn Hat & Socks

I make a lot of these little sets for humanitarian aid. They also make a great baby shower gift. They work up quick & easy and are the perfect instant gratification kind of project. :)

Hand dyed yarn & hats

Thanks to the Kool Way To Dye group over on Ravelry, I have quickly become addicted to dyeing my own yarn. The purple yarn started out a very unappealing shade of lavender. I dyed this several months ago, so I can't remember what flavors of Kool-aid I used. You'd think I'd learn to write this stuff down!  The variegated yarn started out as a cream color. I handpainted it using several flavors of Kool-aid. If memory serves me correctly, I used Jamaica, Pina Pineapple, Berry Blue, and Lemon Lime. The purple that showed up is where the Jamaica and Berry Blue ran together. I'm really quite pleased with how it turned out. The hats I made out of it are a variation of the All Day Beret pattern from the Red Heart website.





 







I love the way the colors spiraled when I did the crown decreases. It looks so cool.

Birthdays are good for you card

I belong to a Stampin' Up hostess group that meets each month and also does a card swap. I made this card for last month's swap. I just love this little turtle.

I love making these. They're quick, easy, and take some of the drudgery out of making a list. It's kinda hard to be down about making menus or a grocery list when you have a cute notepad to write on. ;)  Rather than share all that I made, here are my favorites.

Graphic 45 Vintage Wizard of Oz Composition Books

Not only did I absolutely love making these composition books, each and every one of them sold quickly at the craft shows.  At one craft show, there was a girl who looked to be about 10 or 11 who wanted the very last one only for her little sister who looked to be about 4 decide that she wanted it and nothing else would do! It was so cute!  She definitely knew what she wanted.

More Graphic 45 Vintage Themed Composition Books

I think one of the things I like about Graphic 45 papers is that they often speak for themselves. They are so artistic and they just reach out and grab you. It takes very little embellishments to really make them sing. :) I only used a bit of glossy accents or crackle accents or stickles on these.
